We have an exciting program of guest speakers, with both day and evening sessions!
All are welcome to join us for any of these sessions, at no charge.
We are grateful to meet on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory
of the Anishinabe Omàmìwininì/Algonquin Nation
whose presence on this land goes back thousands of years.
General Meetings
General meetings for September-December and April-May will take place in person,
unless otherwise determined by Ottawa Public Health.
Presentations will be from 1:00-2:00 P.M., followed by socializing, coffee/tea and treats. Remember to lug a mug!
Meeting times and location: Tuesdays from 1:00-3:00 P.M., Bells Corners United Church,
3955 Old Richmond Road at Moodie Drive, unless otherwise specified.

Thomas A. Barber will speak about his grandfather, Paul Barber, a formerly-enslaved Black man who moved to Ottawa and became a respected horse trainer. Registration meeting. Dues $110 full member, $40 joint member, cash, cheque or e-transfer. |

Sleep specialist Andrew Holmes will provide techniques on how to get a better night’s sleep. |

Historian James Powell will discuss Ottawa’s women on ice which include Barbara Ann Scott, Elizabeth Manley, and the Professional Women’s Hockey Team. |

Holiday lunch, Waterford Grand Retirement Home, 121 Marketplace Ave. in Barrhaven. Wear your holiday hats and sweaters. We will be playing games such as Trivial Pursuit and You Be The Judge, and have a delicious meal. Price will be about $25. |

Nora Polley will present her book, “Whenever You’re Ready” which discusses her life and interactions with actors and actresses as stage manager of Stratford Theatre. |

Sheila White will discuss her book called “The Letters: Postmark Prejudice in Black and White”, about her parents and their inter-racial courtship. |

Astronomer Gary Boyle will discuss our cosmic origin, and how it came about. |

Resolutions and scholarships meeting. Discussion of the resolutions that will be presented to CFUW National. A representative from Algonquin College will discuss the winners of CFUW Nepean’s scholarships. |
